OFSC Announces Two Great New Benefits for Snowmobilers
Online Permit Sales and Classic Permits Available This Season!

(Barrie, ON. October 27, 2009): After a year of research and development, the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) has launched online permit sales at www.ofsc.on.ca. For the first time provincially, snowmobilers are now able to buy their Full Season Trail Permits online, just in time to save $50 by purchasing on or before December 1st. The new site, approved by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), is secure, confidential and private, meeting all the Government of Ontario privacy and risk standards to protect consumers and safeguard web site transactions. “Our clubs and our customers have requested the convenience and simplicity of online permits sales,“ commented Paul Shaughnessy, OFSC executive director. “We expect our new online business to significantly reduce the workload of both our volunteers and our traditional permit selling outlets.” Available only through OFSC district offices, the new Classic Permit is a Go Snowmobiling initiative intended to increase trail riding among owners of antique sleds and participation among families whose older snowmobiles may have previously been inactive. The Classic Permit is only for sleds that are model year 1995 or older, at a fee that is 50% of the regular cost of a Full Season Permit. For 2010, a Classic Permit sells for $125.
A VIN number is required to purchase a Classic Permit.
For 2010, Ontario Snowmobile Trail Permit fees and types authorized by MTO and
sold through the OFSC are:
• Full Season Permit
o Pre-Season Fee - On or before December 1, 2009: $200
o Regular Fee - After December 1, 2009: $250
• Seven-Day Permit: $140
• Three-Day Permit: $100
• Special Event Permit: $35 (available only for club sanctioned events)
• Classic Permit: $125 (sleds 15 years or older)
• Replacement Permit: $10 (from selling club with proof of purchase)
All Ontario Snowmobile Trail Permits are official and legal instruments of the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO). Recreational snowmobiles entering or travelling an OFSC Prescribed Trail are required by Ontario law to have and display a valid snowmobile trail permit (some exceptions may apply for certain user groups, see Ontario Regulation 185/01, Section 4). The OFSC Go Snowmobiling Campaign is targeted to increase participation in recreational snowmobiling and help grow the industry by promoting the snowmobiling lifestyle. The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs is dedicated to providing strong leadership and support to member clubs and volunteers, to establishing and maintaining quality snowmobile trails which are used in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, and to furthering the enjoyment of organized snowmobiling.

You will need to have you ownership with you when you purchase a permit

This is an M.T.O. form to be filled out and your VIN # (serial number) is required.

Replacement permits are available to our permit holders  that have damaged their

hood or windshield or had there permits lost or stolen. The cost of a replacement  is $10.00 . You will need to have

your old permit and the pink copy of the permit or a police incident report number to apply for a replacement.

The trail permit is now owned the the Government of Ontario and thus we have a whole new set of rules to follow.

Replacement permits can only be issued by our club permit co-ordinator  !

Email us for more information if you require a replacement or for any other information.

On Dec 21/00 The Legislature at Queens Park passed Bill  101. It is now Provincial Law that all snowmobiles

traveling on O.F.S.C. prescribed trails MUST have a valid permit.

Failure to have a permit while on an O.F.S.C. trail will result in a fine of $205.
